On Sunday 6th January 2013, both Mgarr teams will be in action.

The men’s team will play against FLEUR-DE-LYS at 5:30pm at Cottonera while the women will play against Flyers at  3:30pm at the Cottonera Sports Complex.

Everyone is invited to attend both matches to give your encouraging support!

The women’s team will play Phoenix This Saturday at 5:00pm at Cottonera while the men will play against Aloysians at 5:30pm at the Cottonera Sports Complex on Sunday.

Fleur de Lys Office Group too superior for Mgarr Volley

Fleur-De-Lys Office Group vs Mgarr Volley 3-0
(25-17, 25-17, 25-11)

Fleur de Lys Office Group maintained their positive start in the MVA men’s Super League
to beat Mgarr Volley in straight sets. Both teams had won their previous matches against
Aloysians and Yahoos respectively.

Fleur de Lys Office Group started well straightaway with services from setter Matthew
Cumbo, however Mgarr under experienced coach Silvio Camilleri were counter attacking
and gain immediate side outs especially with attacks from Kurt Abela and captain Patrick
Camilleri. Fleur de Lys Office Group then gained a seven point lead with powerful spikes
from Valerio Savio and Louis Reynaud to close the set 25-17.

The second set was very similar to the first, displaying balanced in the initial rallies with
good passing from Etienne Micallef mostly to Clayton Portelli for Mgarr. Fleur de Lys office
group upgraded their level of play and showed their superiority especially with good spikes
from Eric Sciberras and Antoine Busuttil.

The third set was never in contention as Fleur de Lys continued with their excellent
performance. Player coach Silvan Gauci distributed many good sets to Michael Magro,
Maaerten Haegdorens and Robert Busuttil to close the set 25-11.

Tomorrow’s match. Mgarr Men’s team VS Yahoos

Official games for Mgarr men’s team will open tomorrow with their first match against Yahoos. Mgarr is aiming high for success this season having the team in such a great shape and focused on their goals more than ever!

The game starts at around 3:30PM at Cottonera Sports Complex Gym.

Positive outcomes from Men’s TRAINING CAMP

The men’s team training camp which was held last weekend came to a conclusion with very positive results!

All individuals of the team identified key skills and techniques to improve themselves and the team on a whole. Through this experience the team learned new things about other team members, aimed higher, polished their skills, practiced new combinations, lost some weight and got sore muscles!

Last but not least A big thank you also goes to Annalisa Alison and Abigail who did such a great job taking care of us!

Men’s Team prepare themselves for this year’s TRAINING CAMP

Excitement grows as Mgarr Men players prepare themselves for this year’s training camp event.

The team will undergo a number of training session over the next weekend, challenging them both physically and mentally while strengthening their teamwork.

Such activity strongly helps the team bond and work on key areas difficult to approach during routine training sessions.

So make the best out of this experience and have fun guys!
